Our Team

Studio Owner/Instructor

Hello, my name is Niki Hofer and I am the proud founder and owner of Niko’s Dance Team.
I am happy to say that I fulfilled a childhood dream when I opened these doors over 2 decades ago.
A small studio at first, it has grown over the years and we have trained some amazing dancers and still are training Stars of the Future.

My dancing career began at the young age of two and a half years when I first strapped on a pair of tap shoes, my little feet found the rhythm and they haven’t stopped since.
I continued with advanced training and completed exams in classical ballet, jazz, modern, musical theatre, character and tap.
I later joined the world renowned Ukrainian Cheremosh Ensemble of Edmonton under the artistic direction of Mykola Kanevets from Kiev, Ukraine. With this I had the opportunity to perform all over the world.

I enriched my dance career as a member of the Edmonton Contemporary Dance Company. I furthered my dance training where I added Hip-Hop to my list of disciplines.
I was able to be a member of the dance company Antigravity and appeared in the summer Melt-Down Hip-Hop Party Tour of Alberta.

I have been a soloist and have assisted and taught for various dance companies, and have won numerous awards for my choreography since the opening of my studio and for other companies as well. I also enjoy adjudicating competitions and sharing my knowledge of dance with other studios and dancers.

That’s a lot to take in, and as proud as I am of what I have accomplished, I am equally as proud of my students year after year for representing me and my company and showing the world what we have to offer and why we love to dance.
